Configuration items and knowledge base

How shall I add a configuration item to an article that describes the configuration item? I do not see anything like that in the Knowledge base page.

Configuration item is added to an article in the detail of the article record (same like files or related articles). You have to have role Knowledge Base – Author to be able to do that. There is column Configuration items. After selecting the items save the record with the article. After that you can display the link on Knowledge Base page with the given article or in the Master - Detail relation of the corresponding item (if you are authorized to display it). The links work from both sides - from KB to CI and vice versa from CI to KB.
